Michael J. Gugliotti is a security governance, risk management, and public safety professional with more than 37 years of combined law enforcement, private security leadership, investigative, training, and executive management experience.
Mr. Gugliotti served for 25 years with the Waterbury Police Department in Connecticut, rising through the ranks from Police Officer to Chief of Police. As Chief, he directed a department consisting of approximately 285 sworn officers and 74 civilian employees while overseeing an annual operating budget exceeding $27 million. Throughout his law enforcement career, he was responsible for criminal investigations, intelligence operations, policy development, organizational leadership, strategic planning, training, community policing initiatives, and multi-agency public safety operations.
Following his law enforcement career, Mr. Gugliotti transitioned into private security leadership and consulting, holding positions including Director of Security, Security Operations Manager, Transportation Protection Officer Supervisor, Police Academy Coordinator, Private Investigator, and Executive Security Consultant. His experience spans hospitality properties, luxury residential communities, transportation systems, corporate environments, public institutions, and private sector security operations.
Mr. Gugliotti is the Founder and Principal Consultant of MJG Consulting Group LLC, a Florida-based consulting firm specializing in security governance, risk management, organizational resilience, compliance, and security program development. He is the creator of the HSOS™ Security Governance & Risk Management System, the Security Governance Maturity Model™, and the Security Governance Assessment Methodology™, proprietary frameworks designed to improve executive oversight, accountability, risk visibility, performance measurement, and organizational effectiveness within security programs.
